Artists Funding During COVID-19

The Art Council of England has just announced £20 million in funding for all creatives, to support them during COVD-19. The application will start at the end of this week on 30 March until 3 April

"We want to support artists, creative practitioners and freelancers as best we can in this crisis. We're making £20 million of financial support available to individuals, so they can better sustain themselves, and their work, in the coming months."

This is one of three emergency response funds launching. This funding has come from reallocation of National Lottery Project Grants, Developing Your Creative Practice, and the Development Funds for the 2020-21 period, which has used up almost all of their reserves.

So who can apply? We the Arts Council has left this very open to includingchoreographers, writers, translators, producers, editors, freelance educators of the arts, composers, directors, designers, artists, craft makers and curators.

All applications need to be completed on the ACE Application Portal - Grantium. I highly recommend registering for an account in advance of the application.

The ACE has also announced funding for organizations that need support over this period.

Those that are in receipt of the National Portfolio will have a pool of £90 million to apply for to reboot their creative works or to alleviate financial pressures.

£50 million will be made available to organisations that are not in receipt of regular funding from the Arts Council. Organisations who have applied to National Lottery Project Grants are welcome to apply for this support.
